Chris Richards

I joined HPS in 2001 after moving to the Wirral, and have enjoyed photography ever since getting my hands on the family Kodak box "Brownie" camera at an inquisitive early age!

I enjoy taking a wide range of photographs including the unusual, but particularly land- and skyscapes, and weather images: often taken locally, whilst hill-walking, or on holiday.

I had been using a darkroom for over 30 years, to develop and print monochrome prints from FP4 film, using a Praktica SLR camera. In recent years, though, I've switched to reversal film in order to start producing colour slides, and prints from their (scanned) CD images.

I have now decided to leave the "nostalgia" of the darkroom behind me, in favour of the computer, for all my digital slide and print work: using a Canon EOS camera.
