Web Masters Report - A few HPS Members spent three days near Llanberis, staying at the Old School Lodge, Deiniolen, over the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June 2009. We arrived in Llanberis Monday lunch time and, after lunch and unpacking, took the train up Snowdon. On Tuesday, we got up very early (03:15) in an attempt to catch the sunrise over a mountain lake. After breakfast, we visited the Slate Museum in Llanberis and then divided into small groups to "do our own thing" for the afternoon (I found somewhere quiet for a snooze). In the evening, we ate at a pub near Port Dinorwic and then dashed into Caernarfon to try and catch the sunset over the Menai Straits and Anglesey. On the Wednesday, we were not up as early and, after packing, went our own ways. I had always wanted to walk up Snowdon along the Pyg Track from Pen-y-pass and was lucky enough to get one of the few remaining parking places. I managed to reach the ridge overlooking Llyn Llydaw without too much trouble, but the sight of the remaining stretch convinced me to eat my lunch and return to the car park.
The weather was glorious but with few clouds to please the judges in competitions! Some pictures can be viewed here - these are mine (holiday snaps!) but if any others, from the outing, would like to contribute I would be only too pleased to add them.

Web Site Viewing Problem!
I have discovered that there may be problems in viewing the web site properly when using IE7 with McAfee Phishing Filter. The combination of these two elements of software means that when an image is clicked (to view the larger version), loading starts, as normal, but then stops with the image being displayed in a new web page. At this time I'm unaware of a fix other than to disable McAfee Phishing Filter in IE7.
To disable McAfee Phishing Filter in IE7, click on Tools, Manage Add-ons, Enable or Disable Add-ons; in the drop down box select "Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer"; scroll down to McAfee Phishing Filter and highlight it; in the bottom left of the pane, a 'settings' area becomes available so check the 'Disable' option and click the OK button. Internet Explorer will need reloading to activate the change.
HPS are Moving!
Mike Pill announces a complete redesign of his I-magery web site. Mike would welcome ideas from HPS members for new articles or FAQ's. Suggestions may be sent via HPS Webmaster or via the 'Contact Me' link on Mike's site.

Vulnerability in Kodak Image Viewer Could Allow Remote Code Execution
(923810)
Published: October 9, 2007 | Updated: October 17, 2007
If you are running Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP SP2 or Windows Server 2003 SP1 or SP2 plus Kodak Image Viewer (formerly Wang Image Viewer) then your system may be vulnerable to attack.
Please see Microsoft Security Bulletin MS07-055 - Critical
Web Site Information
Some Adware Blockers can apparently remove images from the display of web pages. This can occur if the height and width of the image are both multiples of ten. This problem can easily be fixed. I've checked the League Competition result pages and 'fixed' them, but if a member should notice a "missing" image please e-mail the Webmaster with details of the page and image involved. Thank you.
