Reg Coleman, FRPS

Reg's career in photography stretches back in excess of 50 years starting with monochrome and now working exclusive in colour. Most of his work is based on 6x6cm format using an Agfa Isolette. However, despite their age the optical quality of these cameras is the equal of many top name marque lenses of today.

Many years ago when he moved to the Wirral from the other side of the Mersey, Reg lost all his mono negatives. The only images that survive today are those that were committed to print, using such materials as FP3 film and Agfa Brovira, a chloro bromide paper to create his images in the soft warm tone common in many images of 40 or 50 years ago.

The images in this section are a selection that was selected from Reg's still extensive collection, some of these were from his FRPS panel.

This is one Reg's Isolettes that took many of his images over the years.

Some other information about the images:

The images were captured from the original 20*x16* prints by an Olympus E10 professional digital camera using normal room lighting. The Olympus camera is able to apply a white point compensation to allow for the colour temperature of the room light. As you can see, despite the technology required to get the images onto the web the results are classical mono images.
