HPS Terms and Conditions relating to Member Images on this Web Site

Any material that a member of Heswall Photographic Society (HPS) provides for this Website either by entering that material in a Society Competition or by uploading it to the Members Gallery (directly or via the Web Master) shall be considered non-proprietary and non-confidential.  The Society will not copy, disclose, distribute or use for any other purposes without your permission, other than as specified here.

When using this website, you shall not post or send to or from this Website any material:

  • for which you have not obtained all necessary consents;
  • that is discriminatory, obscene, pornographic, defamatory, liable to incite racial hatred, in breach of confidentiality or privacy, which may cause annoyance or inconvenience to others, which encourages or constitutes conduct that would be deemed a criminal offence, give rise to a civil liability, or otherwise is contrary to the law in the United Kingdom;
  • which is harmful in nature including, and without limitation, computer viruses, Trojan horses, corrupted data, or other potentially harmful software or data.
  • It is not illegal to photograph children in a public place but, where appropriate, members should seek permission from a parent/guardian. In the case of organised events permission from the organiser should also be sought.

We will co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requiring us to disclose the identity or other details of any person posting material to this website in breach of these conditions.

Images must be your own work or you must have permission to use them from, for example, your employer. You must not plagiarise other people's images or infringe copyright. You may wish to watermark or otherwise mark your images to limit misuse by third parties.

You must provide, or upload, low resolution images as described under the instructions regarding the preparation of images for competitions and for the Members Gallery.

By uploading images, you grant the Society a non-exclusive licence to use images to promote the Society's activities online, on social media or in its printed materials.  You may restrict this by emailing the Society’s Secretary. All images remain the copyright of the photographer.
